Why I Love Photographing Weddings

A wedding to me is a union. A union woven by the countless stories that have brought you two together. It is a moment shared with those that mean the most to you, those that have helped carry your burdens and shared in your blessings.

I’m there because the couple trusts me to witness and capture everything that happens that day.

They trust me.

There is a gravity to such a gesture that makes me humble and grateful. That kind of trust creates a connection between the couple and me that goes beyond mere “payment of services rendered.” And it’s in those connections that I thrive. It’s in those connections where this becomes much more than a job.

A few weeks later, I’m able to give back what they had given me. As they look back at those beautiful moments, the photos become more than just images. They become anchors of where they settled and started a life together. And for the years to come, as they share the photos with those around them they will say, “Here is love. Here is what really matters in life.”
